NA NA NA NA, HEY HEY HEY, GOODBYE :)

well well well, that time has come once again, SUMMER!
This school year has been a very interesting one! I learned a lot of new things, experienced a lot of new things, and created a ton of eccentric pieces in my Comm Tech course.
Over the period of this year, i was able to experiment with soft wares like Photo shop, Illustrator, and Movie Maker.
using Photo shop, i was able to create collages reflecting on my own ' eccentric' personality, as well as multiple exposure pictures which i enjoyed very much!
On Illustrator, i was able to do a bunch of things such as create my very own pattern by picking three random objects and vectorized them, then taking my pattern i was able to corporate it into my inspiration piece which was difficult, but extremely worth it. Finally using Illustrator, i was able to vectorize a picture of Ellen DeGeneres. Out of the tow program es, i felt that i was a lot more comfortable with Illustrator. I felt as if it gave me more opportunities and more room to work with.
My Final project in my Comm Tech course was to create a film based on our own eccentric personalities. This was probably my favor tie project. Me and my partners had a blast filming all the scenes, creating the costumes, and adding sounds, music and text. Movie Maker was extremely easy to use, and helped us create a quick and detailed movie.
My Comm Tech course taught me a lot about computers and their soft wares offered. I learned a lot taking this course and enjoyed it thou roughly!
Thanks to all the teachers and students for the help and support!
Have a good summer!

ART SHOW!
The art show is probably my favorite event at Mary Ward! This has been another successful year and I was so proud to have been a part of such an impressive show! This was actually my second year that i have been involved in the Art show. I had pieces in both Design and Comm Tech and i had some pieces in Visual Arts last year.

Wanna know a secret? Before the Art-Life at Mary Ward, i actually was terrible at art! like i mean HORRIBLE. i struggled drawing stick people. but back in the day, The word ART was a cold dark room that just involved pencil or paint to paper.. and that was about it. After being a part of the Art show for two years, not only have i learned to draw stick people :) but i also realized that Art consists of plenty of categories such as Design and Comm Tech which i happened to be extremely interested in.
Art at Mary Ward has something for every ones talent. This is why our Art Shows are so impressive and successful. No matter if your amazing at taking photos, drilling holes in wood, creating jewellery or even drawing stick people, The Mary Ward art department has something for you.

DON'T BELIEVE ME?
come check out the Art show next year. It is a guarantee that you will be impressed.

"Did you get my text?"

Alright, so call me what you wish, but without my cellphone, I am lost!
I am lucky enough to own a Blackberry ( which i paid for myself) and it is my addiction.
My cell phone goes wherever I go and is glued to my hand at all times.
Yes that's right, the first thing i do in the morning is check my phone, its with me at school (..but i never answer it i swear! ;) ) its with me at the dinner table, and sits next to me as it charges while i sleep. A day without my cellphone totally throws me off course. I can never remember the date. i never know the time, because you know, who wheres watches these days? And I'm behind on the latest gossip.

On the bright side, I'm pretty proud to say that my cellphone isn't just used for calling or texting people. I actually use it quiet productively ( sometimes).
It's my wake up call in the morning since i don't own an alarm clock. Its my calculator in math class since i always forget my calculator at home. It's my memory since I'm always typing reminders and notes on my notepad application and its my calendar! Without myself, i would most likely be late for school everyday, fail my math course, wouldn't remember anything, nor know what day it is.
Cellphones are constantly getting cut up because they 'brainwash' kids and aren't 'educational' but i am living proof that cellphones can be used productively. From the old Motorola Razor to the new I-phone, Cellphones are a huge part of today's society and aren't going anywhere for a while!
Five rules? simple!
Respect your phone
Respect the people on your phone
Don't criticize a slow text-er
Put your phone on silent in movie theater- even that is a pet peeve of mine
and finally..
never ever text when your mouth is full :)

OH just got a text, g2g ;)

Up on clowed nine :)

My generation? spoiled? No way! ...This is what i thought until listening to this clip involving Louis C.K the comedian.
Unfortunately, as exaggerated as Louis may sound, he is saying nothing but the truth.
If we were to all look back to the early 1900's, they had probably a fraction of what we have today. they had no transportation, no technology, no designer clothing lines or even stores for that matter. People today are fortunate to have transportation, technology and the latest fashions and yet still manage to complain.

Now i am not saying i am innocent, because when it comes to complaining, i definitely am guilty, But this video clip opened my eyes to how much we take our lives for granted. We are blind to all the opportunities we have and technology to live off of. I am pretty sure our generation wouldn't be able to last an hour without our mustang convert ables, or blackberry cell phones. we would all be a deer caught in headlights if we had to walk to the corner store, write a letter to ask someone a questions, or make our own clothing.
In fact, i do agree with Louis when he says's that a taste of the 1900's would do our generation good. It would open our eyes to all the things that we have available to us and truly show us how lucky we are.

What ever happened to a good old novel?

Sega, Nintendo, PlayStation 1,2 and 3, X-box, Wii, Psp's ...
Sound familiar? They have only become the number one necessity in a teens life now a day's. And what comes along with these ridiculously expensive pieces of plastic you ask? Nothing but animated video games!

Video games have not only become hobbies or interests, but addictions. People spend their entire days locked up in their bedrooms battling, hunting and challenging others game after game. Wither it be a game for one, or an online experience, video games have become more then a just an activity, they have become an adventure! On this place we like to call earth, Therese two types of people- people who are obsessively addicted to video games, and people who cant even be into a game for 5 minutes without throwing the controller down and leaving the room. fortunately, i am one of those people who despise video games. Not only do i find them a waste of time, but constantly starring at a television or computer screen for more then thirty minutes just screams HEADACHE!

Now i will admit, my family did previously own the Sega, the Nintendo, and at least two PlayStation's, and i did enjoy a couple hours in the entire... five years that we've had them, but making it a priority, its definitely not an interest of mine!

WHASSUP?

WHASSUP? I am pretty sure that when someone hears this, the automatically think about one of the greatest campaign commercials created- Whassup 2008 which was inspired by Budweiser. This commercial is entertaining and sticks with the viewers. Along with comedy, this commercial reflected on some of the everyday issues that occur on earth and prove to us that there is something that can be done in order to prevent these problems, there's something that we can change.
In this commercial campaign, we are shown financial problems, homelessness, damaged homes and shelters due to weather and even war. These are just a very small percent of the amount of problems that people face everyday all over the world. Although eight years later, the common question 'whassup' is still being asked, the answers have seemed to vary. Unfortunately, the answers involve our reality. The recession, lose of jobs, wars, conflicts, etc. This only causes stress to the men's lives, until Mr. Barack Obama appears on the mans television screen. Just the sight of Obama assures the man that his problems will be fixed and that change will occur around the world.

This commercial had a great impact on our society, and societies all over the world. Not only was it entertaining, but it was a guarantee that with Obama as president, we are all guaranteed a future. Now that's whassup!
